Hire Car Turin Train Station

With a Maggiore hire car, there are so many things to do in Turin. The capital city of industry, with a host of Renaissance buildings, Turin is a city with a vast heritage passed down over the centuries. There are at least three different points from which to admire the view of this city, all of them equally valid: the hills of Superga, Monte dei Cappuccini and the Mole Antonelliana.

To reach Superga, simply take your Maggiore hire car to the Superga hills to the east of the city, as far as the train station that takes you below the church. Apart from the breathtaking view, this location also has historic significance, as it is where many members of the Royal family of Savoy are buried. The Royal Crypt is open to visitors.

To see picture-postcard Turin, with your Maggiore hire car you can also visit the hill behind the city, Monte dei Cappuccini, where you can take in the domes, the Mole Antonelliana, the Intesa San Paolo skyscraper and the Alps.

The Mole Antonelliana is a must-see: not only is it the symbol of Turin but it also offers a full-spectrum view of it. It is in the historic centre: once you get there, you can leave your hire car and walk to the Mole and the other attractions such as the Egyptian Museum, the largest in the world after Cairo.

Then take your Maggiore hire car to visit at least one of the fabulous Savoy residences such as the Reggia di Venaria, or the castles of Valentino, Racconigi, Stupinigi, Moncalieri and Rivoli. You can even visit Lingotto, where Fiat cars are made and then tested on the circuit placed on the roof of the building. Another option is a visit to the beautiful villages around Turin, like Garessio, which won a medal of honour in the War of Liberation, and Neive, with its rich mediaeval history and enchanting narrow streets.

Did you know that Turin has a car named after it? It’s the Ford Torino, made for the American market between 1968 and 1976. The car is also well-known for having appeared on the world-famous TV series Starsky & Hutch - it was the one driven by Starsky! A more aggressive model was then produced: the Gran Torino, which was seen in the film of the same name, produced in 2008 by Clint Eastwood, who also starred in the film.

A fixed charge applies on the Turin ring road, close to some of the major routes.
